Dr. Brian Hoke co-founded Atlantic Physical Therapy with Andy Altman in 1997 and practices in the First Colonial office. Brian received his degree in Physical Therapy with Highest Distinction from the Indiana University School of Medicine in 1981. He received his post-professional Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Boston University in 2006. Brian has been a board certified Clinical Specialist in Sports Physical Therapy since 1993.

Brian's professional experience includes work with all levels of athletes from the recreational runner to elite professional and Olympic athletes. He has contributed chapters to two textbooks on the treatment of running injuries. Brian developed a custom foot orthotic device, the Vasyli + Hoke Supination Control Orthotic for the pes cavus foot type that is distributed throughout the world by Vasyli Medical.

In addition to his clinical and administrative responsibilities, Brian is actively involved in Physical Therapy education. He is an Adjunct Faculty Member of Physical Therapy Programs at Old Dominion University and Virginia Commonwealth University. In addition, Brian has taught continuing medical education for rehabilitation professionals since 1985, and he continues to teach both an Introductory and an Advanced Level Course through Motivations, Inc. Brian has presented extensively throughout the U.S., and he has also given professional presentations in Great Britain, Canada, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and China.

Brian resides in Virginia Beach and is a recreational runner and avid golfer. Brian is also certified by the Titleist Performance Institute as a Golf Fitness Instructor to assist golfers in evaluating their flexibility, strength, and muscle performance to maximize their potential on the golf course through individualized fitness programs.
