Andrew P. Altman, ATC, PT
Licensed Physical Therapist
Certified Athletic Trainer
Mr. Altman is a Virginia Beach native and grew up in the Kempsville area. Andy earned a Bachelors Degree in Education from East Carolina University with an emphasis in Athletic Training and then a Masters Degree in Athletic Training from West Virginia University. Andy has ten years of experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer at the Division I collegiate level and has also served as an athletic trainer for professional baseball in the Chicago White Sox organization at the Triple A and major league levels. He earned his Masters degree in Physical Therapy from Old Dominion University in 1995 graduated with honors. Mr. Altman has served as a Teaching Assistant for Advanced Gross Human Anatomy in the Old Dominion University Department of Biology and continues his teaching interests at Old Dominion University as an Adjunct Faculty member in the Graduate Program in Physical Therapy. Andy specializes in shoulder and elbow rehabilitation with emphasis on the throwing athlete. He has extensive knowledge and experience with throwing biomechanics and uses the latest digital technology to analyze biomechanical faults which may help to prevent injury and/or increase throwing velocity. Mr. Altman lives in Virginia Beach with his wife and three children and enjoys family activities and spending time on the golf course.

Lucas Johnson, DPT
Licensed Physical Therapist
Lucas calls Seattle, Washington home, but has spent most of his life living on the east coast while his father was in the Navy. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Old Dominion University in May 2007. Prior to becoming a licensed physical therapist at Atlantic Physical Therapy, he completed his final clinical internship at the West office. Lucas’ clinical interests include biomechanics of the lower extremity and rehabilitation of the overhead athlete. He presented his final case report on “Iliotibial Band Syndrome in Runners and Cyclists.” He received his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland, College Park in May 1999, where he also volunteered as a student athletic trainer for the Terrapin football team. Lucas also serves as an adjunct assistant professor at Old Dominion University for select physical therapy courses and lab instruction. He lives in Norfolk, Virginia and enjoys sports, outdoor activities, and traveling.

Melissa Loyd, MS, ATC
Certified Athletic Trainer
Melissa is originally from Bismarck, North Dakota. She is a 2003 graduate of Olivet Nazarene University in Illinois where she received her Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training. A former athlete herself, Melissa was a four-year letterman on the women's basketball team at ONU serving as team captain her senior year. After graduation, Melissa worked at Loyola University-Chicago as an intern athletic trainer. She received her Master's degree in Health and Movement Science from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2006. She has several years of collegiate experience as a certified athletic trainer working with football, basketball, soccer and baseball teams. Melissa is now a clinical athletic trainer at Atlantic Physical Therapy and is head athletic trainer at Catholic High School. She is licensed by the state of Virginia and is a member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association.

Kim Martin
Patient Accounts Coordinator
Kim was born in West Chester, PA, yet she has been a resident of Hampton Roads single 1970. She is the mother of two sons ages sixteen and eight. Kim has been in the medical field for over 15 years in both a hospital and clinical setting. Kim has been the patient accounts coordinator at Atlantic Physical Therapy for over 1 year, and also has worked as a Patient Data Specialist in the Emergency Department at CHKD for over 10 years. Kim enjoys spending time with her family and walking at Mount Trash more in her free time.

Gabbi graduated on May 4, 2007 from East Carolina University with a Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation. She was born in Virginia Beach, but lived in many places around the world (from being in a military family). Gabbi enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially at the beach.

Carey is currently enrolled at Old Dominion University for a degree in Exercise Science and will graduate in May of 2008. He graduated with honors from Ocean Lakes High School in 2002. He has aspirations to attend graduate school in 2009 for physical therapy. Carey enjoys sushi and the beach, but more so loves spending time with his family and friends. |

Amy Neville, PT, FAAOMPT
Licensed Physical Therapist
Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists
Amy calls the Carolinas home, but has been employed at Atlantic Physical Therapy since September 2009. She has over 12 years of physical therapy experience and has worked in unique settings in both Asia and Europe. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Biology from the College of Charleston in 1994 and earned her Physical Therapy Degree from The Medical University of South Carolina in 1997. She completed The Kaiser Permanente’s Physical Therapy Fellowship in Advanced Orthopedic Manual Therapy, earning level III and IV manual certifications in 2002 and 2003 respectively. She is a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. Amy specializes in manual therapy and uses other evidence based approaches to therapy to treat a multitude of orthopedic problems as well as treating spinal dysfunction.
Amy lives in Norfolk with her husband, Carroll, and her two sons Jack & Will. She enjoys spending her free time with family, running, and traveling. |
